What we help with
This is organized by the problems people actually bring us rather than by product category. If what you need isn’t listed, ask. This is what comes up most often, not everything we do.
On this page: Day-to-day support, Computers and devices, Networks and Wi-Fi, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, Security, Vendor coordination, User management, On-site support.
Day-to-day support
Your systems and software working is the cornerstone of smooth business operations.
Anyone on your team can contact us directly. There's no internal approval step where a manager has to file a ticket before we can help.
Typically includes
- Computers that are slow, frozen, or won't start
- Email that isn't sending, receiving, or syncing
- Printers and scanners
- Password resets and locked accounts
- Software that worked yesterday and doesn't today
- File and folder access
Computers and devices
We set up every machine in your fleet the same way so they behave predictably. Updates get installed, security settings are equally applied, and remote support works without the burden of walking someone through downloading and installing software.
We also know your devices. When an aging machine starts to fail, we'll discuss remediation steps in advance rather than retroactively recovering from a critical emergency.
Typically includes
- Standardized setup for new computers
- Operating system and application updates
- Endpoint protection installed and monitored
- Software deployment across all devices
- Disk encryption and baseline security settings
- Hardware inventory and replacement planning
- Warranty claims and repair coordination
Networks and Wi-Fi
It's easy to overcomplicate a small office network: a router from the ISP, dozens of uninventoried switches, wires going who-knows-where.
We map your current systems, fix any problems, then document the changes, leading to faster problem-solving so you can get back to business, faster.
Typically includes
- Firewall setup and configuration
- Switches and wiring
- Wi-Fi that covers your whole campus or building
- Properly isolated guest networks
- Internet outages
- VPN and remote access
- Easily-understandable, detailed network documentation
- Office relocations and upgrades
Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
Email and file storage are crucial to the operations of businesses. Improper setup can lead to unnecessary maintenance burden and convoluted administration/human resource tasks.
Email and file storage are where most of a small business actually lives. Set up carelessly, and everything after that gets harder: adding someone, removing someone, finding a file, proving to an insurer that you have multi-factor turned on.
We administer the tenant properly: only pay for licenses you actually use, easily-understandable permissions management, and enabling important security settings.
Typically includes
- User account management and support
- The correct number of licenses for the plans you actually need
- Shared mailboxes, aliases, and distribution groups
- Teams & Google Chat setup and troubleshooting
- OneDrive, SharePoint, and Google Drive with proper file permissions
- Spam filtering and spoofing protection
- Migrations between platforms
Security
We won't lie to you with false statements of un-hackability or downplaying risks.
What we can do is make sure the fundamentals stay in place, because most incidents result from poor practices: a missing multi-factor prompt, a machine that hasn't been updated for years, shared passwords, incorrect privileges, or an old employee account.
If you're being asked for formal requirements, like a cyber insurance questionnaire, HIPAA, NIST, or PCI, send us your questions and we'll tell you how we can help, and point you in the correct direction if we can't.
Typically includes
- Multi-factor authentication on email and critical systems
- Routinely scheduled updates
- Endpoint protection with actively monitored alerts
- Backups with testing to verify they work
- Access control and proper privilege management
- Team and individual password management
Vendor coordination
If you've ever had one system stop talking to another and customer service representatives just point fingers, you understand how frustrating it can be to work with third party companies.
Instead, we know your systems and software, and can identify the exact causes of inconsistencies and breakages. We'll talk to vendors for you, and get your issues resolved.
Typically includes
- Internet and phone providers
- Industry-specific and line-of-business software
- Copier and printer companies
- Point of sale systems
- Hardware warranty and RMA claims
- Renewals and license counts
User management
User management is a common problem amongst businesses. Old user accounts with elevated permissions frequently violate security protocols, and adding new users can be a convoluted mess.
Typically includes
- Devices preconfigured with user accounts set up
- Email, group management, and third-party integration accounts
- Granular role-based access control
- Offboarded employees' user accounts and licenses removed
- Reassigning access to devices and documents
- Cancellation of unused licenses
On-site support
Remote support is great, but sometimes it's necessary to have an on-site visit from our engineers to help resolve problems, set up new equipment, or help relocate office locations.
Typically includes
- Hardware installation and replacement
- Network and Wi-Fi equipment
- Cabling and cleanup
- In-person debugging
- Office setup and equipment relocation
What we won’t claim
We’re a small team supporting small businesses, and that’s a deliberate choice. A 400-seat manufacturer with three plants and a compliance department needs something different from what we do, and we’d tell them that rather than take the work.
If you ask us something we don’t know, you’ll get “I don’t know, let me find out” instead of a confident guess.
Not sure whether something falls under what we do? Call 615-809-1004 and describe it. Worst case, we point you at someone better suited.
Common questions
Tell us what’s giving you trouble. You don’t need to know which service it falls under. Send us a message or call 615-809-1004.
